I took delivery of my 2016 Sprinter on December 29, 2016.
The above picture is weighing the van after removing the plywood floor and prior to any work
I wanted as fully automated van as I could purchase. I also wanted a 4x4 from the factory (X30) as I plan a lot of snow trips.
I ordered C02 Driver Efficiency Package, C04 Active Safety Package w/Parktonic.
I did not get what I expected.
C02 Love the rearview camera, but it is not adaptive to turning the steering wheel, still glad I ordered it.
Included cruise control, a must have in any car.
Nav system I have used a few times when my phone has no service and won’t let me into mapping, good purchase.
C04 Parktronic, I thought it would be like the sedans, and park the van by computer, NO it is Park Assist with lights and beeps. Just like my 9 year old Ford truck. Miss-labeled as far as I’m concerned.
Light and rain sensor. Works really well, windshield wipers go on when it rains, and knows how much it’s raining, automatic headlights.
Blind spot monitoring, blinks and Loud beeps if you turn on your turn signal and try to go into another lane, or just try to move over when a car is there. Not quite what I expected, but works well.
Collision Prevention assist, I don’t know if it will apply the brakes if I’m going to hit something, I have not been in that situation yet, and don’t want to try it out.
Lane keeping assist, beep signal if I stray over a white line. Thought it might shake the steering wheel, but does not.
High Beam Assist, really cool thing is that the high beam switches on and off when you approach a car on one approaches you. Never had that before on a vehicle.
D03 High roof, 6’2” height with head liner
D13 Roof Rails for a rack.
T12 Sliding door – Two stage. I’m going to fill half the door with cabinets anyway
X25 Rear windows (fixed) and W70 Tinted Rear Windows To match the CR Lawrence (operable) windows I will install in the sides.
ZH4 Downhill Speed regulator for 4x4 (low range)
F01 Swivel seat package A problem to add as they only offer this to Fleet Buyers, but my salesman is the fleet manager, so got it added.
X22 Trailer hitch, wanted to be able to tow, even if it only has a 5000 pound cap
6CE 6 –Cylinder/5 speed transmission 3.0L/ 325lb-ft / 188hp at 3800 RPM
All in all today with 2500 miles on the van, really happy with the purchase.
Now it’s time to start the conversion
